We made it to Illinois, and I'm really exhausted, which of course is why I'm up at 1am DLin what I've missed and trying to catch up on lj even though my parents' computer and internet connection kind of make me want to cry ^^"
I just want to say how . . . special Ohno's shirt in the last pic is &hearts
Also, Nino's godawful shorts are bad enough, but then the gold jacket thing, and the stripey long thing that reminds me of Kokoritsu only gone horribly wrong. More wrong than a concert outfit because it feels like the DIY on the cheap version ^^"
I guess Nino should just be happy that they don't put hjim in shorts and UGG-esque boots like someone else I could name (do you think Aiba tried to feed Wardrobe mabo tofu ice cream? because his truth outfit in AAA 2008 must have had a . . . history behind it ^^")
Also, those bright tennis shoes are spectacular. I may have seen similar ones today at the mall and lamented how Arashi associations trump any sense of taste. I did not, however, purchase, so I still have some claim to a minimal amount of dignity.
Mom and I blew through 5 eps of YTM today. Dad gets back here tomorrow evening so we wantted do get through as much as we could. We were only going to do 4 (2 in the morning and two at night, but then this evening, she kept asking for 'just one more' and then it was 10:30 and I think she gets up at 5asm or something ^^"
So I think I will try to hook her on HYD or Gokusen later this week; I'm not convinced that she's up to Maou yet. Probably HYD--I ove Gokusen, but the embarrassing scene in the first ep where Yankumi tries to speak to the assembly will probably embarrass her too much and then she'll never want to watch any more of it. I'll need the Boy here to sell that one, and he won't be back until Wed or Thurs.

This is another area where the influx consistently meets or exceeds my ability to process the text (see also, 'grading').
I cannot explain these t-shirts, though I am gearing up for an epic VSA Engrish t-shirt post one of these days. A couple weeks ago Sho had one that was Mr Peanut &hearts LIL. I have no idea (there was some text on the back, but no clear shot of it throughout the episode). Ohno's... reminds me of Ryuchi's bunny from Gravitation, only it's not, quite. And it seems to be drooling really excessively.
Yeah, Aiba looked pretty strange in that outfit at Kokuritsu, but I forgive concert outfits. Small-scale lives and variety shows usually let them wear relatively normal clothes, though. And he just stands out so much from the others, who get to look attractive. Not fair, and therefore vindictive, I think.
Tennis shoes: I think that he's wearing those salmon pink things in several episodes. They look dumb with the capri pants (tapered legs, really), but they're really not so bad in and of themselves. But yeah, JE makes me think the wrong things look okay. Actually, the tennis shoes I got earlier this summer are kid of sparkly. Though this is actually not so much because I wanted Arashi-sparkly-tennis-shoes-of-rainbow-love as because all the tennis shoes that weren't cross-trainers had some sort of sparkle or bling. I couldn't help it, and I couldn't go another year without new sneakers, so sparkly Skechers it was.
Yay for YTM! And that your mom has unprompted meditations about Arashi! I wonder if Gokusen can be productively prefaced by an explanation of manga-based progress-narrative that starts at a point of humiliating fail. We are almost done with Haikei, Chichiue-sama here, and I am wondering where to go next. I'd say Ryusei, but only two eps are in .avi format -- and T&D is softsubbed -- so it's either skip it, or invest in a tv hookup and then do all screenings at Meg's, since she has the only new enough tv. And that would also mean lugging my computer all over the place every time, which is not that convenient right now. So I wonder if I can convince them of YTM or Gokusen or KCE, now that I'm out of serious-minded stuff on DVD. Oh, I guess I could burn Voice. Hmm. Maybe a poll. With cast pics or something to remind them that they like Okada or Toma or whoever they thought was cute before.
How was the trip? I am barely treading water here, and circumstances keep conspiring against me to prevent me from getting any forwarder. It is lame. And there are 22 open tabs on my browser. T_T
