The girls'piano teacher caught sight of a big caterpillar at our backyard three weeks ago and the two jiejies promptly made a home for the greedy green creature. I called it Ashley's first pet since she was the only one who has not witnessed the life cycle of a caterpillar-turn-butterfly. We saw some four caterpillars on the sole lime plant I had at the balcony planter and the girls got all excited over it.  In the end, I decided that they can keep two of the caterpillars in the container and see how they transform.  While the big jie jies were hyping all over the new found pet, the little one did not want to be outdone too.

Two weeks ago, I noticed a caterpillar munching away on the lime leaves at our balcony planter.  It was a very green caterpillar and I decided to let the girls keep it as a pet.
