Lanterns & Mid Autumn Festival

We went to the Tooth Relic Buddha Temple last Friday to pay respect to my late grandmother. Somehow, going to this temple is quite a thrill as unlike the rest where you see the traditional joss sticks and incense, the offerings here is rather unusual. Flower ring surrounding nice candle holders. They even have some chinese horoscope cards for you to write down your wishes and hang it on the fake trees. Gimmicks though it may seem, Andrea had fun writing down her wishes on her card. :P There always seems to have something on to attract tourists and passers-by to this temple.

Outside the temple, we were attracted by all the colourful lanterns hanging around it.

On closer look, I realised that the lanterns were work submitted by a few Primary Schools. Some of the drawings are really amazing. I was quite inspired to let the girls try out painting on the plain lanterns that we set off to IKEA to get the plain lanterns.

On Sunday, my family came over for lunch and the nieces and my girls set around to work on their lanterns. My two older nieces came out with pretty nice and colourful lanterns.

As for Sheneice, the artistic Daddy (xiao jiu) is the one painting the lantern for her. "P

The girls and their lanterns!
