This is He-man, a new friend and protector of Primus

As it turns out, I haven't begun knitting any mini food items yet. I can't seem to start something new, when I still have to finish that blanket! I have however, accomplished more than usual lately.

Graham officially began his vacation Saturday at 5:01 pm. Since then, he has been nothing but busy-- mostly helping various people (by various people I mainly mean me and his brother, Chris)! As a treat though, we ate at Pizza Hut tonight. I think he was looking forward to having the day to himself tomorrow, because I was supposed to start my job at the new salon, but as it turns out I have one more day off and don't actually start until Thursday.

I am excited and nervous and ready to get back to doing hair. This morning Boy took me to Salon Services to get the rest of what I needed to start. I was surprised at how little money I actually ended up spending on supplies and products all together. Also, Mike gave me a box of very nice business cards with all the info for The Art of Hair already printed on them. The catch is that they were abandoned by a previous stylist and thus have her name printed on them as well. However, I am going to get address labels made with my name, cell phone, and hours and stick them on the cards. Another money saver. (Smarty pants.)

Today, Graham's mother advised us to never get married. It is practical advice considering that she has been helping Chris take care of the divorce. And Graham responded that he was already leaning that direction. However practical, it is not really advice I am interested in taking. I don't know if it is simply a girl thing, but I've been dreaming about my wedding day since I was little and it's not an idea that I am willing to abandon. I want that diamond ring, and the white dress, and the bridesmaids and the toasts. I want it all. I don't care if marriage is an outdated ritual, or that it is a religious ceremony while I don't hold any real religious beliefs. I don't care if marriage complicates things, or even worse, if divorce does.

In other news, the weathermen are saying that it is supposed to snow here tonight and tomorrow, which an accumulation of around 2 inches. They've had a winter weather advisory issued since this afternoon. That seems so absurd to me, but I guess around here people aren't used to snow and they don't have the equipment to clean the roads. It's all very strange.

For the last few days I have been reading a spectacular book called King Dork by Frank Portman from the band The Mr. T Experience. It was actually quite clever. It made me think about a lot of things that happened to me in high in school and I think it may have kicked me into a bit of a writing mode. It's been a long time since I've been motivated to write anything more than journal entries, or lists.

I hope that Lindsey is having a good time in the Dominican Republic.
