Green Eggs and Ham

I just decided that I had more to say, but since the last entry was so long and so serious it seems okay for me to write an entirely new one.

Just in case you were curious, I still haven't finished the purple throw blanket I've been knitting for my mother. It was intended for Christmas, but when I realized it would never be done in time I sort of put it aside and bought her some other small gifts to tide her over. Well, now I've picked it back up again and I'm working dilligently on it even though I'd rather be knitting a million and one other things. I want to finish it quickly tho, so I can get onto those new projects.

Graham's mother Beth bought this really fabulous book with patterns for knit flowers. I'd love to try some of those out. I've also become mildly obsessed with knitting miniature food items such as sushi, tofu, and various garden veggies (I have a plethora of such patterns bookmarked). I want to make little pins out of them. And I'm very intrigued by the concept of felting and eager to try that out as well. Lord knows I have plenty of yarn to keep my busy for quite some time and I also have the gift card to Ben Franklins that Sarah got me for Christmas.

I'm sad because I didn't fully realize until after Christmas was over, how much I really wanted a Nintendo DS. And now, I'm certainly in no position to buy myself one. But that will be the first major purchase I make once I get my act together.

And finally, today I suddenly realized that I wanted to, needed to learn how to cook a fried egg. Seems easy enough to most people, but my mom always cooked them for me. My first attempt resulted in 2 mostly spectacular tasting, not very pretty looking eggs.

I hope that further attempts prove me to be a better egg frier.
