WHERE IS ANDY'S MOJO?!

Aug 31, 2005 23:19

MAYBE ANDY'S MOJO SHOULDN'T BE TRAPSING AROUND NEW YORK GOING TO PARTIES AND FILMING COMMERCIALS. MAYBE HE SHOULD BE WITH ANDY ON THE TENNIS COURT. MAYBE THEN ANDY WOULDN'T HAVE LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND. TO GILLES MULLER. NUMBER 68 IN THE WORLD. SWEET JESUS. Seriously.
And the announcers WON'T STOP TALKING ABOUT IT. Usually, they never stop talking about how "amazing" Federer is. Now, it's about how Andy Roddick lost in the first round. THEY WON'T STOP. THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW. SHUT UP. I THINK WE KNOW HE LOST ALREADY. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS MATCH. LEAVE HIM ALONE. (Of course, they still throw in the occassional Federer praise, just in case anybody forgot how much better he is than everyone else.)
And American Express's ad campaign just blew up in their face. Way to go American Express. I've seen the commercial three times today...and everytime I want to scream out APPARANTLEY ANDY DID NOT GET HIS MOJO BACK IN TIME. BECAUSE HE LOST. I bet they feel like jerks.
Katie and I are now placing our support behind Andy Murray and Andre Agassi.
But it's okay, I guess. It's just a match. Hopefully this doesn't become a recurring pattern, and next year is better than this one (not like this year was bad for Andy Roddick, he made it to the Wimbledon final and the Aussie Open semi). Once he fixes his backhand and gets more confidence he should be okay. The announcers definitley need to stop though. They are really exaggerating. Johnny Mac called Andy's backhand "beyond abysmal" during his little rudeness spasm. Honestly, him and this Ted guy will not let this die.
This upset definitley confirms that I am cursed and everything that I like that I don't really have any control over (therefore excluding CHS tennis and my softball team) is doomed to lose except for Carrie Underwood in American Idol. I apologize in advance to everything and everybody that I will ever and have ever rooted for.
OH. The Yankees signed MARK BELLHORN (AKA THE RECORD HOLDER FOR MOST STRIKEOUTS IN A SEASON AND FORMER RED SOX 2ND BASEMAN) yesterday. I am disgusted. They also lost yesterday. The Red Sox, of course, won. Making yesterday one of the worst sports days ever for me.
Anyway, one good thing did happen yesterday. My family and I went to look at puppies at my mom's friend's house (she fosters them). These puppies were so cuuuute. They looked like golden retriever puppies, except that they had black fur that looked like it had highlights (the proper term is "brindle"). And their heads had little tiger stripes! My theory is that they are a boxer/golden retriever mix.
Today was a better day. We went back to visit the puppies because we had to show them to my dad. Although I went to the doctor today for my physical, it wasn't all that bad. I grew an inch! I'm 5'6". That made me happy. The nurse practitioner was really nice too. And best of all, Aladdin was on in the waiting room!
After that I went to Dairy Queen and the mall, where I got 3 pairs of jeans (2 from American Eagle and 1 from Gap), a shirt (American Eagle), a belt (Gap), and the ultimate in anti-Dr. B footwear (Gap). They look like flip flops except a little dressier with a strap around the back. I'd post a link to the picture but the Gap website is down. Then I got my ears pierced (finally, yay), and went home.
As you can tell, I'm trying really hard to forget about Andy Roddick's loss.
