REGISTRATION PREP POST, WOO
This is your friendly reminder that Pacificon 2010 registration will open this Saturday, November 7, at 9 a.m. Pacific time. HOLY CRAP I’M SO PSYCHED. For those of you who like to be extra-prepared, here’s a recap of the procedures:
- Registration is $85. We're capping the total at 100 attendees.
- Here's how this works:
1) you leave your info in a comment to the official registration post
2) we email you to let you know we received it (and you made the <100 cut) and ask for payment
3) once you have this green light, you submit payment (preferably by paypal)
4) we email you AGAIN notifying we received your payment. Only then are you officially registered. Yay for you!
- We are only human and sometimes we have to eat and pee and leave the house and stuff, so we will send out confirmation emails as fast as we can. Please be patient! We promise we will respond to everything we get.
- We greatly prefer Paypal to pacificon08 [at] gmail [dot] com for speed and online tracking purposes, but we can take a check or money order if absolutely necessary (US dollars only, please). We can email you a mailing address if that's the case. If you're international, we have to insist on something electronic.
- Payment is due within 7 days of the first confirmation email. Please do not register yet if you don't have the ability to pay within 7 days. If we don't receive your payment by the due date, your spot will be forfeit to the next person in line, if there is one.
- Also, please do not register until you have all the information we need. Much as we want you there, we don't want it to be complicated. Don't leave anything blank! We know it's exciting, but please take a second to make sure you get everything down right before submitting. Once in the door, there is no difference whether you were the first or last person to sign up. We appreciate your cooperation.
- You can register for yourself, or one other person, or both yourself and one other person.
- If you need to cancel your paid membership before March 15, we will refund $65 of your $85. (We may also cry a little that we won't get to see you, but don't mind us.) After March 15, we won't be able to offer any refunds. However, we have a "no problem!" transfer policy. You can transfer your membership to another party at any time, even the day of the con if need be. After all 100 spots fill up, we will start a waiting list. Any cancellations after the fill point will be offered to the people on the waiting list, in order.
Here is the information we need:
1) Your real, actual name. FIRST AND LAST. Don't worry, comments will be screened. No one will see it but us. This is just so we can match up payment and emails to your registration.
2) Your badge name. It can be whatever you want, however you want. We will print it exactly how you provide it here. That means capitalization, spelling, spaces, etc. Please be attentive to this.
3) A valid working email address where we can reach you quickly and easily. No livejournal.com addresses, please. Those are unreliable. And please use proper punctuation instead of typing out "dot com," etc. Again, no one will see this but us.
4) Your method of payment. We need to know where to be looking.
5) An age statement, which you just copy and leave there. This is more to cover our asses if a bunch of teenyboppers show up the day of or something. This event WILL have porn and booze and stuff available to those of age. We make no claim otherwise. Therefore, you must be at least 17 to attend.
6) For people other than yourself, it'd be nice if you gave us their lj name, if they have one. (Please use your own lj to register yourself.) Also, let us know who's paying for them and how, whether it's you or them or Uncle Bob or Paul Gross.
And for those of you who like to be extra-extra prepared, here are some “pasties” (tm jarrow) you can use to have all of your registration info primed and ready to go. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR INFORMATION IN A COMMENT TO THIS POST. The comments to this post are not screened, and the whole of the internets will be able to see it. AWKWARD. This is just for… okay, I was going to make an “eager beavers” joke, and then I thought better of it. The point is, these are what you’re going to want to use on the big day. Just NOT YET.
There are three pasties here; simply grab whichever one(s) you need. (These will also be included as part of the official registration post, so you will have them there if that's how you want to roll.)
One registered person per pasty. If you are registering for yourself and another person, you can put both those pasties in the same comment.

Okay? YAY. Also, I will be posting a general con information post on Sunday, after the registration madness has died down, so that will be your one-stop shopping for hotel/travel/etc. info. The short version is that we're at the same location as last year, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Issaquah, so it should be familiar territory for a lot of you! (I am not sure if our mascot Nick the Hot Maintenance Worker is still toiling there, but I will definitely investigate. *g*)
