World-Building Panel Hand-Out and Commentary

May 04, 2008 11:02

Hello all! After a truly shamefully long delay (due mostly to my inability to save things like my own hand-out) and due to the generosity of malnpudl who very kindly scanned my hand-out for me and sent it to me (*waves* Thank you!), I'm here with my hand-out and a fairly lengthy commentary on the panel (the whole thing is about 2600w), including some extra notes I had, a summary of some of the main points of the discussion, and a brief run-down of the World-building exercise we conducted as a group.

All can be found in my journal here.

As I say in that post, I was trying to hit on the points that were related to the hand-out, but there were a lot of really interesting and important things said in the panel, so do feel free to add your two cents either here or in my journal. Also, if I've misrepresented anything (due to the time lapse and the general swiss cheeseness of my brain), please do point it out so I can correct it.

Also, I'm thinking of maybe starting a World-building comm (described in the post), so if you have any interest in that, I'd love to know.

And finally, thank you very much to all those who participated. It was great, and I only wish we had, oh, 6 more hours to really get our teeth into the topic.
