Markie and I having a conversation over dinner@Oriole....
I'm wearing a Lanvin-esque black dress with a pleather sash, Steve Madden leather punch-out ballet flats and studded leather and mirrored acrylic bracelet by some Korean designer whose name I cannot read.
Haven't met my posse in so long, it's great to see them after a month of hiding. I've been really busy, only leaving work between 7 to 9 every evening. Finally, the daily grind is starting to die down, and I can look forward to a nice break in 23 days. The upcoming trip to Vietnam is a work trip, so I highly suspect I'll be exhausted for the most part. Real rest comes when I leave for New York and I'm officially off-duty. I can hardly wait.
Absence from the blog usually signals the lack of time for me. I've had so much stuff going on in my life, it's kinda overwhelming. New projects, new ideas, more, more, more, more work! Not like it's a bad thing. I need work to take some things off my mind. Life has been hectic, sometimes troubling, and I can't help but think, this is what it means to be an adult.
Times like these, it's always good to retreat into my own head.
I truly love the notion of escapism. It feels so liberating to dream up a life where I live in a quaint house by the countryside, and where my front porch is a perpetual explosion of multicoloured balloons.
Speaking of colour, it's been a while since I've ventured into anything beyond black and grey. However, the last thing I expected was to run out of Topshop with a turquoise silk jacket. It was previous retailing at $240, but I got it for $69. I paired it with black shorts and Zara leather cuff platforms. Those skyscrapers damn nearly killed me.
G takes one look at me.
G: (Fakes a ringtone) *Ring *Ring. Hello?
G looks at me.
G: It's the 80's and it wants its jacket back.
Funny, Funny! G cracks me up so. But I dig the jacket, and no one is going to talk me out of it.
On with the regular weekly ritual:
Blair and Leighton out and about.
You're absolutely right. That is indeed GAGA. What with the huge gay audience GG is drawing, I'm not surprised they invited the hottest gay icon onscreen. Blair just looks like a complete darling. Oh! And that chemistry with Nate in the Bass funeral scene. Chuck is a complete dork, looking all moody and trying to get into character. Jokes aside, this is one of my favourite scenes, because it just shows how good an actor Ed really is.
I am positively loving this image of Leighton to bits. The hair is gorge, the make-up flawless. Makes me wanna run out to get a tube of pinkish nude lippy. Now, I'm seriously contemplating curling my hair. But, there is a high possibility I might end up looking like an 'ahjuma'.
Sensational Saskia
Australian fashion's new-kid-on-the-block, Saskia is turning heads with this phenomenal collection. I know the heavy studding seems a bit dominatrix, but if you're privy to how much work it is to stud anything, you'll realise that this is a wonderful work of art.
Forgive me for the minisculeimages. Photobucket is NOT cooperating today. Click on the images if you want to enlarge them.
So I'm just thinking to yself, the awesomeness that is this dress will simply never be mind. Not to mention the fact that sitting down is NOT possible. Nevertheless, beauty is beauty.
I'm going to round-up this post with some stuff that inspire me.
Awesome eh? Well, I'm kinda beat now. I've spent a really long time posting this because I'm so distracted with trying to find accomodation in NYC. I know right? 3 weeks to departure and I've yet to find a place to stay. I'm gonna be living on the streets swaddled in my fur coats man. What's a girl gotta do?
Got a blasted headache. Bah!
