My kids are back from VA Beach!! They had fun; body-surfed, saw the Air & Space Museum & generally had a good time. I'm so glad they're home, tho. I missed them.
I'm up late; unable to sleep. I came back downstairs to finish watching the Olympics. Husband thinks I'm weird, but I love the Olympics. The kids get into them, too, so he's pwned. LOL. Yesterday, Youngest & I were watching Women's Synchronized Springboard Diving. I told him to say "dive officer, on the 1MC, dive, dive!"* So he'd say "dive, dive!!!" Then, after each dive he'd shout "1MC!!!" And before the dive he'd say "watch this, they going in." He's so cute. :-) Tonight we saw Michael Phelps get 2 more golds. USA! USA!
Today I also got to watch dumb videos at my new job, then got to sign a bunch of paper work. Fun. I also got a schedule. I start this weekend. I'm a bit nervous, but it should be ok. I'm looking forward to it, too. :-) They gave me a lunchbag, which I think is very cool. This is why I need to get used to being up late, tho; as of Saturday, I'm on 3rd shift. But I'll be making some good money.
John McCain was in my city today. I wouldn't vote for him. Even though Erie is an unheard of city, we get Presidential candidates like you wouldn't believe. During primary season, we had Bill Clinton 2x, Chelsea & Hillary 1x, and Obama 1x. This isn't unusual. We've had Mike Dukakis, Bill Clinton in 1992, the Shrub(after he was in office), & a few others. Husband & his sister & BIL went to see the Shrub. I saw Bill the first time & Mike Dukakis.
McCain is hanging around with Tom Ridge (Former Director of Homeland Security, Former Governor & Erie's most famous son...gag), so they're thinking he'll pick him as VP. I was told a long time ago the republicans won't run him because he doesn't toe the party line when it comes to abortion. Gasp! He believes women have the right to choose what happens to their bodies! How dare he!? Personally, I don't think the republicans who want to take away that right are as conservative as they believe; from what I understand, conservatives want the gummymint to stay the hell out of their business. Ah, well.
Well, I think I'm gonna try to get some sleep.
