Sometimes when sailors are out to sea for too long they hallucinate.
Sometimes they see what people commonly know as 'mermaids'.
A mermaid is just a fantastic looking woman with a fish's tail instead of legs.

I saw one with normal girl legs
And scars on them where she cuts herself.

All the legends of old
The stories they've told
The dreams of the sea
Meant nothing to me
Now my disbelief
Lay smashed at my feet

'Cause I saw the girl in the sea.
