It's the Little Things That Make a Good Day

Mar 30, 2008 21:01

I consider today a good day, especially since recently good days have been few and far between. In all consideration, I can honestly say this has been a good weekend, but today was just the cherry on top. From solving mysteries to over-dramatizing Wii-contests today was really fun.

Let's see, I guess it all began on Thursday... (for recap purposes)

Thursday:
~ I went to MacArthur Mall (I survived the interstate)
~ I got a shiatsu - Interesting really, this electronics store was going out of business and while I was waiting for my friend to look for earphones I sat in a massage chair. The lower massage was really nice, but the upper back one was painful! I learned in Biology that the pain was good because the endorphins were supposed to kick in, but they never did...
~ I bought "The Truman Show" (still haven't watched it though, college is eating my life)
~ My friend bought me a Honey Frapp from Starbucks.
~ I went to Best Buy and played more SSBB Subspace Emissary (Let's just say I began a file there and I have played it for about 5 hours...at the same Best Buy...and I've gone about 6 times...I'm a loser :P)

Friday:
~ I went to the Library and got into a Sherlock Holmes mood. Checked out two Detective Conan manga, an unauthorized Sherlock Holmes biography, and a book on the orgins of Sherlock Holmes.
~ I went to Best Buy...again... and played more SSBB: Subspace Emissary for like an hour...or two (see why I need a Wii?).
~ Went to Barnes & Nobles :D
~ Did an RSL Picspam XDDD

Saturday:
~ Nothing
~ Nothing
~ Eating
~ Nothing
~ Got all my homework done! That in itself is a great accomplishment!!! :DDDD
~ My neighbor and I acted like weirdos and ran around our neighborhood taking pictures (They're all on Facebook btw)

And now for Today (Sunday):

I had a hard time getting up this morning because the night before I went to bed around 2 A.M. and I had to get up for my choir practice at 9. When I got to church however, I discovered all of our music was missing! After about 10 or so minutes of vain searching I went into "detective mode". I sat there and thought that maybe the music wasn't missing after all. Anyway, my friend (who is also the choir librarian) came and I questioned her about the whereabouts of the music. She apparently had no idea what she did with the music she had put away just the day before (>.>) and we just took music out of other people's boxes and continued with practice (some boxes had music, but I just figured it was because they left their music in their boxes instead of their folders which were cleaned out).
I figured out the mystery after practice though! :D
The music pieces where used by the old choir, back when the choir had fewer members (the pages were marked like A1 for Alto 1 for example). So I realized that when my friend was cleaning out the folders she sorted the songs by their labelings, but she didn't realize that there were more of us now then there were back then. I kept saying "It was elementary my dear Lhei Anne" for the rest of the morning :)
Call me geeky I don't care, the moment I figured everything out was PURE AWESOME.

After church there was this event at Best Buy and the grand prize was a Wii! So of course I HAD to enter.
All in all...I didn't win the Wii ;.;
I did however win like...100 dollars to a spa. XD
Don't get me wrong, I really am happy I won something...but...I REALLY wanted that Wii

It didn't help that Best Buy actually had Wiis in stock that day

The funny story there was, when my name was pulled in the raffle I told my friend to get the prize for me (because I was in line for WiiSports and yeah...). So when she gave me the certificate I *seriously* GOT ON MY KNEES and cried "I WANTED THE WII!!!!!!"
...Sadder thing is that I have no shame over doing that. Honestly.

So all-in-all, I guess that life is either giving me a break on the last week of my 18th year of life (Friday, It's this Friday!) or is being it's mean sadistic self to me. I go for the theory that it's both.

rant, exciting, real life, video game
