I think it's great that you said something to the lady. We just don't have enough respect for the elderly anymore. I hope they post your letter in the paper, I think it's a great idea to say something about it. I'll look for it!
PS- I seem to be public enemy #1 lately. Everyone's picking fights with me on my lj. ;_; You know that last post I made about what my mother said about the homeless guy, and how I thought it was funny that she was so vehement about it? Well a kid from high school wrote back and just went on and on about why she's wrong and I'm getting sick of listening to his crap. GUH. I didn't post it to invite a bloody scientific debate- I just thought my mother's response was funny. GET OVER YOURSELF KID!
It was unnerving how no one else was saying anything. Everyone was just taking quick glances and such, trying to look inconspicuous. Somebody had to do it. I did write to the Era Banner, and I'm sending it today. I just need an envelope. ^^ I can't find one hehe
