“Hyung! Hyung, where are you?”
A young man’s voice carried throughout the spaces in between the trees of the forest. The voice kept flowing through the woods, but the efforts seemed in vain when the only answer received was his own echo.
“Jaejoong! Yoochun! Junsu! Answer me!”
The voice of the maknae kept ringing the names of the missing trio, yet no one responded to the call. Changmin’s voice was getting hoarse from all his yelling, but he persisted.
“Darn it, hyungs! Where did you go?”
When there was no answer again, Changmin cursed under his breath after another few minutes of silence. How far did they go? Did they run that far ahead of me? The tall young man grew aggravated and became frustrated. He was frustrated with the situation he and his hyungs were in, and (more importantly) with his handicapped health. If I wasn’t so weak, I could have caught up with them. If I wasn’t still sick…
The maknae’s thoughts were cut off when he broke down into fits of coughing. The running and yelling must have put a strain on him. Well, that’s what Changmin thought anway.
What’s going on with me? Why am I suddenly feeling horrible? thought Changmin franctically. He was now on his hands and knees, shaking uncontrollably from his coughing.
Suddenly, he felt something warm on his lips. With eyes still shut tight, Changmin moved his left hand to touch his mouth, feeling a liquid substance there. The maknae slowly opened his eyes, which widened at the sight beneath him. He saw no other color but red, staring at his own blood on the forest floor. Wh…what? Dizziness gradually overtook him, but not until after hearing a pair of footsteps rushing in his direction.
*******************************
“Changmin…Changmin…Changmin, wake up.”
A pair of brown orbs slowly peeked from under the maknae’s eyelids, full of exhaustion and fatigue.
“Changmin, can you hear me?”
“The said-male’s vision became more focus, a clear picture of his leader’s face now seen before him.
“Yu…Yunho.”
“Changmin! Thank God!” exclaimed Yunho. The leader tilted his head toward the heavens and gave a quick thanks while making a sign of a cross across his chest with his right hand. Then, Changmin coughed again.
“Changmin, we need to get out of here. They’re close behind.”
“What?!”
“C’mon, get up. I’ll carry you.”
“No, hyung! I’ll weight you down. Leave me.”
“Shut up, you idiot! Now sling your arm here…right there! I’ll carry you like this.”
Changmin’s left arm was now stretched across the back of Yunho’s neck, and Yunho had his right arm draped around Changmin’s waist. The maknae was all too familiar with this position, since his hyungs had to carry him around in this manner for the past few days.
The duo heard shuffling in the distance, and the noise seemed to be coming towards them.
“Crap, let’s go!”
Yunho adjusted Changmin’s body to his own, and the men quickly limped away from the impending danger.

“Aish, How deep is this forest? Is there no other side or what?”
“Just shut up and keep running, will you, Flipper?”
“Oh yeah? Why don’t you shut up, you mouse!”
“Say that again?!”
“Will both you kids shut up?”
Junsu and Yoochun became quiet. They couldn’t blame Jaejoong. The threesome were running for their lives, and Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dumb were calling each other names like grade schoolers. Good Lord…
Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu rushed through the trees to get to their unknown destination. They were all breathing heavily and sweating profusely, but they were not willing to slow down anytime soon. Until…
“Guys, look ahead!”
Jaejoong narrowed his eyes at the rays of light shining throught the trees up ahead. The rays filled im with hope and anticipation, causing the eldest to break out into a grin. An exit? Is this the end?
Yoochun and Junse were not far behind Jaejoong, and they felt the same excitement like his. Closer and closer they got the sunlit passage, and more and more they felt the feeling of freedom. Finally, they burst through their hopeful exit…
“WHOA!”
Jaejoong wailed as he skeed to a halt, arms spread out to help slow his brothers’ momentums as well. Yoochun and Junsu crashed into their hyung’s strong arms, and all the air inside them were knocked out of their bodies as they each gave a loud “oof.” Jaejoong struggled to keep his balance from the sudden impact, praying he didn’t fall over.
After Junsu recovered from the surpise collision, he gave an incredulous stare at his oldest hyung. “YAH! What was that for?”
The bewildered expression on Jaejoong’s face did not go unnoticed by the youngest of the trio. Junsu turned his attention to the direction of his hyung’s astonished gaze…
“O.O”
The small group saw another forest a little ways ahead of them. However, the new batch of treeds did not throw them off. Separating the boys from their current spot to the other forest was a wide, gaping chasm…right at their feet.
Yoochun gave a low whistle. “*Beep*”
