Ring Around the Sun (Last Line #2) by Harper Fox

WOW! This went from slightly paranormal to epically mythic in the space of one, albeit long, prologue... and I loved it.

This is such a complex book: characters paired with the elements, but also representations of mythical figures. Prophecies, visions and symbols. The end of the world looming, Mike and John are in the mistd of it, but it is Quin who is the key to save it. Anzhel and Oriel are the forces they need to battle against, and it's painful, intense, twisted battle.

Harper Fox magnificent writing at her best: powerful, emotional, with an intrincated plot, breathtaking in the beauty of her words, this is difficult to explain and review... this a book to be experienced, and, IMHO, listening David Thorpe's narration is the best way of doing it. He gives it that dreamy quality necessary in the more slow, allegorical parts of the story, but perfectly transmit the urgency and the danger in the moments of thrilling action.

I truly, truly loved it.
