The kid got her first semester grades yesterday. She's effectively skipped a grade, but she's still performing beautifully. Her lowest grade was an 86, and it was in Math. Given her lineage, that counts as an A+++.
So proud of her: she's grown and assumed so much personal responsibility. She's learning positive ways to cope with stress and negative emotion. She is so much more communicative, engaged and present than she was when I picked her up in June.
Tonight, for the first time since she was four years old, she showed otaku-level interest in footwear. She immediately picked up a pair of patent, spindly pumps and sighed, "Hawwwwwt."
