Hey, I'm alive and stuff!
I'm delighted to tell you that my writing class is rad, but am dreading putting in the time to do my first assignment. It's about not hitting the backspace, expressive writing. Sure, i'm doing that right now, but it's not quite the truth. The truth is, I draft everything I write 3-6 times, even if only in my mind. I wish I could draft every word that comes out of my mouth, and sometimes I have desperately wished that (no matter how lovely my landing place) I could toss out several stages of my life and chalk them up as Shitty First Drafts.
The key is to write fluidly and expressively, emotionally letting the words fly out and over like water. We're not trying to be pigment or clever, just building a foundation.
