I wasn't sure if I was going to count this as a book, as it is technically an unpublished, incomplete book, but let me explain.
Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight Series, which "Breaking Dawn" was a part of, has been working on another book for some time called "Midnight Sun," Which is the story of "Twilight," the first book, from the main male character Edward's point of view. "Twilight" is a love story between Edward and Bella, who is the narrator. I have been eager to get inside of the head of Edward, as he is one of the most interesting characters I have read recently, but I knew the book wouldn't be out for some time.
Well, apparently Stephenie had handed out a few copies of the unfinished manuscript to some close friends, and one of them posted the entire thing illegally on the internet. She talks about it on her website, and was devastated that there was a violation of her trust. She debated about what to do, but since currently she doesn't think she will ever finish the story, she posted the 270 page unfinished manuscript on her site for all to read.
Having read it, my first feeling is sadness. The story is incredible, for those of you who are Twilighters. To see inside the mind of Edward explains a lot of his actions and somewhat mysterious things he does in "Twilight." And it breaks my heart that it more than likely will never be finished.
I savored the story over three days, and truly did feel a sense of loss at the end, mainly because the story stops one chapter short of the best chapter in the book, where they finally declare their feelings for each other. But I should be grateful to read any of it at all, I suppose, as it goes against my morals to locate an illegal posting of it online, so if she hadn't posted it on her site I never would have seen it.
So book 10 was worth counting as a whole book, in my book! It gave me so much more insight to the world and Characters Stephenie created, and it is probably the final chapter in this series of books that is loved by so many. If you are intrigued at all, check them out!(start with "Twilight"!)
