I almost didn't sleep last night due to the very painful sensation in the small of my back ("poyasnitsa"). I googled and read a lot about kidney diseases because I was dead sure it was it.
I chatted with my Georgian female acquaintance Anastasia, she sent me a hug picture and that was it. I also chatted with Eugene, my co-worker asking him whether it was worth calling the insurance company to get the doctor to me. I decided to do just that next morning. I decided not to talk to Ars because I thought I'd already bothered him enough recently.
At 2:00am I put the phone away and tried to sleep. I couldn't. I put a blanket on my bed sheet hoping it would help a bit, it didn't help much if at all. I tossed and turned the entire night but not a single pose reduced the pain.
In the morning I called the Russian medical insurance company via Skype and had a nice conversation. They asked a few questions and gave me the phone number of their representative in Antalya. It turned out the doctor visit would cost me nothing. I talked to the representative and the doctor came an hour later. He prodded and pushed various parts of my back and concluded my kidneys were alright. The pain I'd been experiencing was due to my muscles/spine. He prescribed three different medications, including a NSAID, a muscle relaxant and something else I've already forgotten about.
Then we had a long conversation about intestines. He was cautious about the Turkey healthcare system and said it was costly and could cost me a lot. Still he prescribed me the most expensive probiotics that's sold here. The insurance company should cover it all he said, let's hope so.
In the morning the pain subsided a bit. I was a little bit elated it wasn't the kidneys but I have my own apprehensions.
The intestine clinic doctor has just sent me a voice message in good English. I sent her back a dozen of messages :-) Hopefully, she'll read them.
