These past 5 days have been the days of seeing many far away friends. Thursday, we drove up to Brooklyn. We stayed with Smiling, and met her boyfriend. Their new apartment(in park slope) is fantastic. Friday we spent the day walking around, Prospect Park, the BMA, etc. Then we met up with M and went with her and some friends to a "bad luck" party, where we were supposed to bring something symbolic of our own bad luck, and burn it. Well, Clove and I just couldn't pass that up!
Saturday we drove up to Massachusetts for Amityflora's wedding. We were able to get there in time to get ready, help out with flower decoration(of flo) and talk with S.opera.
The wedding was gorgeous and the rain stayed away enough for the ceremony to be outside. The reception was in Amherst, at a lovely place, and the food was fantastic(panasian). We danced and danced, and my favorite moment was when they played "Heaven"(cheek to cheek?) the song we danced to at our wedding, and the whole room was dancing and singing along. The whole night was like that, joyful.
We brunched with the newlyweds and a few others, and wandered Northampton(clove loved it) and then Amherst(emily dickinson's home).
Clove decided to do the whole drive in one day, so we didn't get home until almost 3am.
Tuesday afternoon, Goonacreature came into the country and I got her at BWI, girls in tow, and we ended up at the pool. Very nice to catch up with her, she'll be back in Maryland in 2 wks.
I feel rich in friends and with catching up with people.
