Bean will be 14 in just 4 days.
There were times when I never thought we'd see this day, truly, I did.
He's basically stabled and annoyances at this moment are founded in recovering from the rage of so many years (breaking old habits) and just normal teenage angst.
His meds are steady and he's slowly, albeit not regularly, remembering to take them without prompting.
He starts again with guitar lessons on Friday -- this time at new music studio (not just a music teacher) that just opened up in our little community. They guy has massive years in music and recording and general arts support. Bean is completely psyched and I hope it's a great outlet for him, as basketball seems to be a fail, because there's not enough kids to make up the league.
In honor of his birthday, I share this song that means the world to Bean and I. Someone once told me that Chrissie Hynde wrote the song for her own son. I don't know if it's true; but, if so, it would only add more meaning to its relevence in our lives.
Here's to a relatively stable, peaceful and rockin' 2010.
