Well, everyone ELSE is doing it, so...
Honestly, it looks interesting, I need to get back into the habit of writing, and this will encourage me to update every day, although like
beckynicky I make no promises that there will be an update every day.

My name is Rebecca Ann. I am 30 years old, and having achieved this much, am feeling pretty good about it.
I am American and female by birth. My family nationality is Finnish, Irish, English, and Austrian with a dash of Polish. I throw this around but increasingly I wish I knew more about each history means; some parts of the family have been in the Americas for a hundred plus years, some parts only for a few generations. It's an interesting history, but no different than most, I think.
My close family consists of my mom and dad, my younger brother and my brother's wife. I am engaged to be married to a man named Daniel, and this will be my second marriage. My first marriage was also to a man named Daniel.
I have two college degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Library and Information Science. I am a librarian, and I work at a science library at a major university. This job lasts until the end of next July. After that? Who knows? The lack of certainty scares the hell out of me and irritates me at the same time - I'm ready for the next step of buying a new car, buying a house, having children. I wish I had the guaranteed income to support this.
But I love what I do. I love working with scientific information and buying books on plant species for researchers. I love working with other librarians and faculty and students to solve problems and fill information needs. I love working with the museum and creating webpages full of resources for people to use. I love being part of the academy. I love being surrounded by information, new and old, rare and common. I love bringing a sense of order to chaos.
I like epic movies, songs that inspire feeling, fantasy novels, responsible science, intelligence, and humor. You can usually find me watching Family Guy, the Office, and Jeopardy.
I am an extremely irritable person and have almost zero patience for people in groups. I have recently been composing a mental list of behaviors that ought to result in Instant Death. Talking on your cell phone and driving 10 mph slower than the speed limit? Instant Death. Causing a scene at the public library because your teenage son opened a manga and saw a boob? Instant Death. Your name is Sarah Palin? Instant Death.
I'm 5'7" and a 36 C. I have brown-green eyes and dark hair that I color bronze.
Ten years ago I would tell you how important music, both performing and teaching, was in my life. Today I don't play anymore. It's both saddening and a relief at the same time. I used to write and read more often than I do. I used to play World of Warcraft a lot, I mean A LOT, and sometimes I crave it like a smoker craves the nicotine.
These days I spend most of my time either at work or resting at home, although Daniel and I both love the outdoors. I love to hike and to bird and to identify the trees and other plants around me, and to take photos that attempt to capture the symmetry I see everywhere. I have a compound bow and am a dead shot at 30 yards.
I love my fiance with mind, body, and soul. We're rarely apart. We laugh a lot. We have sex a lot. There are questions left to be answered and fights still to have. Life is definitely going to be an adventure with him.
I think religion is a waste of time, bad for society, and a terrible excuse for people to make up rules for other people to live by. However, as I get older, I am getting more and more spiritual. I spend a lot of time thinking about God and his plan. I am very private about this. Asking me if I'm saved or if Jesus is my own personal savior insults me as much as asking me if I'm a virgin or what my own personal favorite sexual position is. My soul is my own business. Keep your views to yourself.
Politically, I am moderate. I don't think being extremely left or extremely right solves anything, and talking is the way to settle problems. I think the greatest threat to humanity is a society that tolerates grown adults behaving like spoiled, selfish children, and enforces a strong belief that everyone gives a fuck about what everyone else has to say. I fear there is an obsessive interest in children and youth in this country that breeds anti-abortion terrorists and pedophiles like cockroaches.
I think when you care more about a ball of undifferentiated cells inside someone's uterus than your fellow adults, that indicates both a serious problem with priorities and a lack of seeing the big picture.
You will find damn near every kind of music on my iPod. Three songs I'm really into right now are "Georgia On My Mind" by Ray Charles, "No Leaf Clover" by Metallica, and "Gossip Folks" by Missy Elliot.
I'm a bad mamajama motherfucker goddammit you don't gotta like me.
I believe a full vocabulary arms you for all situations of life.
I believe that all accounts balance, and sooner or later everyone's bill comes due.
I believe that's enough for now.
