So I'm reading Charlie Chaplin's biography for a school project that I have to do, and I'm only finding out now that his childhood was really fucking depressing. His mom went insane, and she had syphilus. His dad was an alcoholic and he drunk himself to death. They sent him to an orphan school while both of his parents were still alive.
