Tues. and Wed.

Today was a pretty good day. Before I talk about Bible Study tonight, I want to talk a bit about yesterday.

David came in to the office yesterday and asked me if I knew what the day was. “Election Day,” I responded.
“And?”
After the usual guesses, I was drawing a blank and said, “What?”
“6, 6, 6, and we’re electing politicians…” he laughed. That, to me, was too good to not write to remember.
Roy didn’t win the Republican nod for Governor, and I’m glad for that. While I agree we, as Christians, must stand for our beliefs and principles, I don’t think what he did was scripturally based. Not only that, but he let that be his campaign and never really talked about what he would to make the state better. A former governor, Fob James, did endorse him, and in a radio ad, discussed taxation. To me, though, that was to little, too late.
I guess that’s enough politics-except that the amendment to ban same-sex marriage passed. Alabama may be backwards in a lot of ways, but it’s nice to see our morals are still semi-intact.
Last night, Abbey came over, and we went on a hunt for the new Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower cleaner, and a bible cover. We both came up with packages, and then we went to Solomon Park to walk. For a nice nature walk, it wasn’t too bad…but it wasn’t a good exercise walk. We did have to go on the wooden obstacle course-and that was fun.
I wish somebody would create a playground for adults-complete with slides, swings, monkey bars, merry-go-rounds, see-saws, and all that sort of thing. I think it would just rock, because you could just be a kid again and leave all the worrying and responsibility behind for a little while.
I used the automatic shower cleaner this morning. I was bad and didn’t clean the shower first, so the directions said it would take 2 weeks before noticing a difference. Even if it isn’t cleaning well, I like the fresh, clean scent it leaves behind. I will say that if you use one of those rack-like things that hangs over the showerhead, you will have a problem with the auto cleaner. I got lucky in that there’s a towel rack at the opposite end of my shower, and I hung it there.
I got a nice surprise in the mail today. Kaylee wrote me a two-page letter. It sounds like she’s going to have a great summer. This just makes me miss teaching Discipleship and being involved in children’s ministry.
Tonight, I didn’t have orchestra practice. However, I still went to church. I was excited about going because tonight’s supper was Chicken fingers, fries, salad, green beans, rolls, and chocolate-chip cookies! Yummy stuff!
Brother Ray is continuing a series in the book of Joshua, and we talked more about Caleb. I do miss not getting to hear Bible Study on Wednesdays when I do have Orchestra.
On the way home, I told Lance and Jill about the struggles some of us are feeling in Sunday school. I did this because I know that they will pray for us. Lance went by Dairy Queen, and bought Jill and I ice cream. I got a chocolate milk-shake. That was really yummy!
I talked to Jen and Tim tonight on skype, and we had a nice time just joking around and making each other laugh. It was a great way to end a long day. Maybe the phone will be busy tomorrow!
