I don't know why, but I haven't been sleeping like I should these
past few days. Today, for example, even though I tried to sleep about
midnight, I didn't go to sleep until around 5:00 A.M., thus, I didn't get up
until around 11:00 A.M. I can't do this all summer! I can't do this the
rest of this week! I have to get back on a normal schedule and stick to it!
I'm going to Greenville tomorrow, to discuss possibly transferring
to Greenville High School, as a science teacher there. I like the
idea--because Greenville is a larger town, and I like the idea of living in
a city again. I will be fine, though if this doesn't pan out, and if it
doesn't work, it's OK. I know that whatever happens, God is in Control.
Mom and I went shopping Saturday, and I bought some clothes, but I
couldn't really find any shorts. It was a real let down. I wanted to take
four or five pairs of shorts with me to NJ, so I could wear them on our
training trips.
On the bright side, though, I found 3 skorts, and I will be able to
wear one of them to school, I think. I'll have to ask a couple of my
teacher friends to make sure it's "Professional" enough. I also found quite
a few shirts on special, and so I have some new short-sleeved shirts to
take.
I bought a luggage set, too. Hopefully, I can pack in three of the
pieces, and leave the huge suitcase at home. It's not bright, like I
wanted, color wise, but it is not black, so that's a plus. I'll see how it
looks after the flight. :-)
Church on Sunday was nice. Brad embarrassed me and made me tell
everybody at church where I was going Saturday and all that. It was fun
anyway. Choir practice was a little tougher than I would have liked, but we
managed, and after church, Becky, Chris, and I went to Chris's parents'
house for supper. It was nice. Mrs. Penny had cooked a roast, and it was
very tender and nice.
Yesterday was a lazy day. I didn't do much of anything, except
straighten up the kitchen a little--nowhere near enough, though.
Today, it was storming when I finally got awake enough to notice the
weather, and it rained most of the afternoon. This was a good, slow rain.
My plant enjoyed the rain, I hope. Rachel and Liz came over around 6:15,
tonight, and we went to Kendall's for supper. It was so nice and
comfortable outside, I wished I had a nice patio outside with a picnic
table, so we could have enjoyed ourselves there. As it was, we came back
here and ate, then we took turns playing with each other in my swing. Liz
was quite taken with the swing, and Rachel wanted to know where to get one.
I'm so glad there are other hammock swing converts! It really is a
comfortable place to read and study.
I guess that's about it for this entry. I didn't realize it had
been about a week since I last updated. It may be about a week, unless
something exciting happens this week before I write again. :-)
