Christ, so after four and a half days of being completely non-functional I am finally beginning to kick this freaking flu out of me..
From last Wednesday afternoon when I left work early (read, 5:30pm) I don't think I have been more sick than this in the last 6 or 7 years. Thursday and Friday I could barely see straight, let alone do anything useful. Saturday I was dancing in time to the fever (mmm yep, that's a pun) which was really noticeable when I swapped from a t-shirt & pedestal fan to jumper + quilt + couch, just trying to control the temperature flushes.
This morning I went to the chemist again and just asked for something stronger, plus now with having the cough™ which has shown itself since yesterday I picked up some chesty-cough medicine.. Of course, they didn't give me anything other than plain old Codral for the fever.. GIVE ME STRONGER damn you laws.
I would have given myself perhaps only a 30% recovery this morning. Now thanks to more Codral, Nurofen and cough medicine it is really apparent these are masking a lot of the effects. While I feel fine and can work, I occasionally get these head-spins where the world just rotates. After a few seconds it thankfully stops..
Now I'm finally almost functional, and I'm looking around.. There is maybe half of the staff all off sick. Someone call the CDC!
