I have the most bizarre ability. If I write something or even think of something strongly enough, it will somehow manifest itself in some shape or form. Though, the only downside is, I can't do it with any intention or purpose behind it. I can't say, "OK. I'm sitting down and I'm going to write about my winning the lottery!" It doesn't work that way, apparently. And It's never instantaneous. It usually comes out somehow yeeears later. It's completely random. And, yes, I know how this all sounds. Sounds completely crazy, right? I think so, too. :P It's happened on more than one occasion, though, and the latest release of Snow Patrol's new video for "Called Out in the Dark" seems to top them all. Out of all the things I'm into, Jack Davenport and Snow Patrol seemed the least likely cross paths.
I got into Snow Patrol back in 2005 with their first Album "Final Straw." I really got into them the following year when "Eyes Open" was released. That same year, I got into Gillington, and have since dubbed a few songs off of "Eyes Open" and 2008's "A Hundred Million Suns" my "Gillington Songs." A lot of these songs I see from James' point of view, singing about Andrew (with maybe one or two seen from Andrew's point of view about James). So imagine my complete and utter surprise when I come home from a horrible day at work yesterday to find out that, not only is Jack Davenport in a Snow Patrol video, he's singing in a Snow Patrol video! I practically fell out of my chair in a fit of fangirlish squeals. Actually, I think I might still be down there...
At this point, I don't think I truly have any words to express how awesome this is! A little taste of my own personal Gillington fandom...in video form! *SQUEE!*
I was actually thinking a few months ago of basing a Gillington fic on a Snow Patrol song. I'm definitely going to have to write it now! O.O
