actually it was sunny today, but also windy, which combined with the tall tall buildings made it a bit chilly at times. but oh my, so lovely!
i am staying
here for the three nights before i head to LA. after that it's hostels and couches. it's just up from union square on bush st (thing i learned today #1 - san francisco hills + asthma = not so great) but seriously you guys, you'd love it here. es especially! pip is the hotel cat, and we met earlier - i had a rest before i went out for dinner and ot my wireless working and there was a meow and a little ginger face at the window. so i let him in and he said hello and then went to my door - thank for that hooman, now let me through, can't stay, places to go, ya know...
i had tea this afternoon too. nice strawberry scented tea. mmm
and i found a good chocolate place. wasn't in the mood, but will stock up before i head to chicago in a few weeks.
for dinner i went to Lori's Diner. oh yeah, when in america... i had a cherry coke, (things i learned today #2- stir cherry coke before drinking or risk serious amounts of syrup in one mouthful) the most amazing clam chowder and a very small part of my southern fried (half a fucking) chicken. lol. i ate all my coleslaw though.
so i have been up for forever already!
i did sleep on the plane, about 6 hours i estimated, so not bad, but yeah, just a bit wooooozy from the flying and walking around.
i saw something totally awesome today - a rat sitting on a cat next to a dog with what appeared to be a homeless/beggar guy. i patted them - sooks they were - although i probably shouldn't have. but they were very sweet. the dog kept wanting to lick the rat - and then licked the cat. eeep. (things i learned today #3 - i'd rather have my butt crack hanging out than be alerted to the fact i have my butt cracking hanging out. for some reason the presumably helpful comment of 'you might want to pull your sweater down' from a passerby really irritated me!)
so i pretty much just wandered today (things i learned today #4 - i really need to readjust my thinking when crossing the street. no j-walking here) - saw the spiral escalator, totally went into crumpler and was all patriotic with the storeman :) and caught a cable car. man so much cooler than trams! i also saw a fire engine, which is probably bad, but they're so cool and old fashioned looking.
ok so in an order that in no way resembles that above...
lookit the animal pyramid!
omnomnomnom
not nearly as omnomnomy as i would have liked
Macy's window - nett, mandy, es... you'd love it!
