I'm trying to write our media release (a month later than i planned) for A View of Concrete.
What i am ACTUALLY doing is messaging Stephen Fry on twitter, looking at yarnpr0n on ravelry and playing scrabble.
*fail*
I am in desperate need of today though - which i have off from rehearsals - since i came home SO buggered last night that i actually couldn't cope with being in the same room as another person. My words didn't work, my body hurt and i think i'm almost ill (ie, my body's fighting it, but i feel like crap anyway, but not crap enough to go 'im sick' and thus get sympathies). Also i was FREEZING COLD. stupid weather.
So i watched downloaded TV in my bedroom and knitted my FIRST HANDSPUN ITEM! which is actually for Essie and is made from
Essie's Roses yarn. It's a cowl in a scalloped pattern. Photos later.
Also on the knitting front, I made this last week
Actually I made it twice, but it was HUAGE! the second time i made it, i had a WHOLE BALL left over from the first time. and it's still a smidgeon big!
So. I have 2 and a half days left of being 27. Huh. weird. I will be officially and without doubt in my 'late twenties'. Two years away from 30. I'm MOSTLY ok with this, but there's that little bit of me looking on going, wait, what, when did THAT happen?
I really did have a lovely time on the weekend (Jen's Birthday PHASE 1) despite the strange mood that settled over ALL of Melbourne. I had CAKE!!! I had not had any delicious baked goods in over two weeks. I only had two pieces but it was AWESOME - there was still a third of the whole thing left at casa de SJ + E when i left!
So! Es and Saj did give me Juno! woooooot! and also lovely pajamas which i have since been in need of with the colds. I also got a mochi doll (i think that's right, no?) for keeping secrets from Sunshine and i loves it - too cute! now i need a secret to put in it! (what's a secret?) and some neroli pulse point scent from Sarah which is lovely and calming (so totally appropriate for me!)
Mum and I are going to JB to get my birthday present on Sat - a Nintendo DS (in pink of course!) for all the hours i will be spending in airports sans knitting on my really big trip 09. (which i totally need to go and see the travel agent about on monday) I will be getting myself Tomb Raider Underworld (duuuude portable lara croft ftw) and guitar hero on tour (for the MASSIVE LOLS) and possibly some mario games (mario kart!! super mario DS!!! etc etc - it's like i'm 12 again!)
apparently people have been asking miss nett what to get me for my birthday, since there is the rumour that i have enough yarn... what a concept! i will happily accept donations to the stash, as yarn or fibre chosen with love is even more special! if you're not sure about that, then there are a few DVDs and books on my amazon list that i'd still like. but honestly don't stress about it! it's Aaaaallllll good!
So, before you all pop round on Sat for foods and conversation, on Friday we are having a fundraiser for the play.
