Looking at photos of oneself can be excruciating. You're too fat, you have a terrible facial expression, you look tired, you look old, awful haircut, bad situation...for whatever reason it can be a painful process. That is, until you come across those photos that capture a moment or feeling

A Buddhist would say that photos are a bad thing - trying to encapsulate a moment in a two dimensional piece of paper. But a moment does not exist once it passes.
Hard for me to always internalize because I am a novice photographer. I am always out to capture things that the eyes cannot see. Sometimes it works.

Yeah, I sometimes get caught up in the mechanics of trying to make the shot and loose sight of what it is I am shooting! Always good to take in the big picture - pardon the pun.

I have a terrible memory of events and being a depressive type will focus on bad things. Having photos depicting good times gives me hope and rememberence that a black period will pass and there will be more delightful photos at some point.
