My most recent twitter update reads “Contractor/temping or jobless--the life of an "entry level" chemical engineer in a shitty economy.”
My Twitter statement is very accurate. I was talking about job hunting and being a contractor briefly with Shivani on gchat today. It is where I came up with my tweet. The most interesting part of the conversation was:
me: life of an entry level chemical engineer in a shitty economuy

Shivani: i know! do you realize that we have to compete with THREE class levels now??
people from 2010 that didn't get jobs, people from 2011 that didn't get jobs
and now people from 2012, that have started looking
And Shivani is 100% correct...and she even left out a group of people- all of the experienced professionals who got laid off and are looking for any type of work. Last year was bad enough trying to find a job which I failed miserably at (minus the Corning offer I lost due to my own circumstances). What will the upcoming year be like now that there is even more competition?
