The word onomotopoeia came up in Korean today and it made me think of random English words I like, for various reasons, some because they just sound funny or appropriate and some for no reason I can put a finger on whatsoever and thought I'd share. Just 'cause it's random and might be amusing. (To the geeks among you... or just to say I'm a weirdo...) ;-)
1. Onomotopoeia- come on, how can you not like this word? ;-)
2. Stupidity- not just stupid but stupidity- why, I do not know, except I know it somehow stemmed from having read it in 'Heidi' way back when.
3. Frumpy- it sounds funny and fitting.
4. Alluring- I think it sounds like what it means, call me crazy and I like that.
5. Fop- it's just a fun word, honestly. (And anyone who would actually use the word 'fop' in conversation will automatically go up on my favorite person list.) ;-)
6. Insidious- *shrugs* It sounds like what it means to my ears- and it's such a delightfully expressive word, honestly.
Right, um, yes, does this qualify me for some sort of English major geekiness prize just that I actually spend time thinking about this kind of thing? Yes, methinks so.
To quote 'West Wing'- 'I'd just like to say that it is DONE and I DID it!!' :-D
Okay, not exactly done in the 'done writing' part but basically done as in pretty much done plotting (and that's the first step, right?)
I've figured out how I'm going to have horcruxes be destroyed and how I'm going to get rid of Voldemort at the final battle, decided who's going to die at the final battle and how I'm going to end my 7th year fic 'From My Soul'. (And, though I know this is probably being an infernal tease- no, I won't tell.) ;-P (well, I might- to some of you...)
And I've decided that I'm making Voldemort out to be very, very, very, very distantly related to the English royal family (because I'm a history geek)-- because, honestly, he's of the House of Gaunt (it's too tempting and too convenient) and really, how much would someone like Voldemort like the idea of being descended from royal blood? Plays right into his whole 'I am the Dark Lord- fear me' schtick, IMHO. :-D
Now I just need to write the damn thing.
Oh and I'm redeeming Draco and Snape- not because I like them but because I think it's canonically accurate but I knew that already.
