The "90s Theme" birthday party was pretty much a wash as I suspected. A few people did put in some minor effort, but even the hostess herself barely seemed to be into the idea. And also like I thought, her husband and his small group of friends were not in anyway participating. Not to mention the music was horrid, and not of the time. Not only that, he would barely let a song play before he was changing it to something else. All the while he and his crew were in the driveway playing the most dreaded of all games... the game I hate above any other: Bags.

I commented to the Sparrow after the fact that the several times I've been around this ex coworker chick friend of his when her husband has also been in tow, he has been completely disinterested in communicating. One might think it has something with us being a couple of fags, but he seems to be that way with all the friends of hers from the Sparrow's job. He said hello to us when we walked in, but he just doesn't seem personable. I am sure I am taking it wrong and thinking it is rudeness.

Really, the greatest travesty was what a flop the theme was. If there's one thing I love, it's a theme party. Halloween of course being the best kind, but it saddens me no matter the occasion to see people so lazily not doing much, if anything to participate. Not to mention it seemed she had a fair number of no-shows, which is par for the course.

Someone asked me earlier in the day why we never planned our 70s disco rollerskating party we'd been so excited about doing back over the winter. But, I just had to face the reality that a lot of people would say they'd go, and then never show up. I've learned that lesson ten times over in the past with all the parties I had. People are just unreliable. With the skating party, there would have been a monetary cost for us to host it as well. I'd still love to do it, but people as always ruin things.

Back to last night's party though, it all was fine and good. We were totally worn out heading home after ten considering we are usually in bed by eight-o-clock.

We were somewhat productive today. Got the back garage cleaned and mopped. It's ready for plants, and possibly the exercise equipment if we are able to move that stuff up from the basement soon. So, I can't say we didn't accomplish something this weekend. It's rainy out anyway, so there's not much would could have done outside.

It's about that time though to have dinner and start dreading the work week.
