I get into the office this morning and Miss Managed is already here. An actual rarity these days. Both that she's here before me and/or in the office at all. I get to my desk and say hello and I get this odd, almost simpering "hello" from her as if she is at once completely pissed off with me and demanding my complete attention and pity all at the same time.
After that we pretty much sit across from each other in silence. A silence charged by a million tons of tension in the air.
The Boss arrives shortly after I get here and pops his head in the room to say good morning. He asks me first about a PC that was delivered Friday and then about the client we are going to this afternoon. Oddly enough, the tension in the air turns to a trillion tons because both are things that do not involve Miss Managed and she cannot stand that anything occurs in this company without her absolute knowledge and involvement. She has in the past come close to weeping whenever such things have occurred. Thankfully, these days the Boss does not care and often times intentionally leaves her out of things completely... asking me not to say anything either... so he and I can both avoid the bullshit drama.
Just a few moments ago, she got up to get something off the printer and had the most ridiculous coughing "attack". It began near the printer. She then stood in the middle of the room doing it. Then moved to the doorway, leaned up against the door jam with one arm and rested her head against it like she was about to collapse and turned and stared right at me. (Meanwhile the Boss is just on the other side of the door and got a full-on performance as well).
I did not even look up from my computer which is probably quite assholish on my part. But, I've seen her "dying" performances so many times I just shut them out completely. She wheezed, coughed and whaled for a few more seconds before stumbling back to her desk. Why she went to the door I have no idea, other than to put on a big show.
I was already thinking on my way in this morning how, going on my third year here, I am just done with her bullshit. This morning she finally got back to an email I sent her last Wednesday. On Friday I had to follow-up with her on another email I'd sent the same day she also ignored. She ignores my emails, but then when I call her out on it she gets pissed off at me and sends these curt, cuntish responses. And all I am trying to do is my job. Especially in the case of her cuntish email, seeing as it was something SHE was pressing me on last week that she needs completed by today.
And of course, my attempting to get the job done from her perspective is me picking on her. I am waiting for my trip with the Boss to the client to find out what she's been crying about to him since we've talked last week. Usually these days, he immediately offers up the info to me. I don't even need to ask anymore.
Oh I just love it. Ten minutes after her huge, dramatic coughing fit she is going down for a smoke. Nice.
