What I find hilarious is that half these people who were SO upset months ago about China and the Olympics, who wailed on about atrocity and inhumanity and human rights... I bet they'll be watching the Olympics.

That's the problem with people. No damned conviction. If the situation was that upsetting to so many people, why even watch. Why even participate. Why even send athletes. Stand up for something for once in your lives.

The other comical twist on things were articles at the beginning of the week on most news sites talking about the horrible Chinese Monster forcing young children into a life of physical training and shaping them to be future Olympic athletes for the glory of the country. The best being a girl who was forced to walk on her hands for like twenty minutes or something.

Self-righteous U.S. opinion of course.

How many white bred, all-American douche bags have sold their children into advertising and acting and beauty pageants and other disgusting, Capitalist endeavors? And all for the glory of the parents.

At least when a country forces its people into a lifestyle, there's a disconnect there between human and the system. But, when someone's own parents sell them into a lifestyle of vanity and material glory THAT to me seems far more reprehensible.

But, go ahead and be "so so mad" about China and how it treats people as you kick back on your sofas and watch the games. Hypocrites.
