[Business Info] Sakhr Earthenware

Mar 04, 2010 14:58

A small, but serene pottery shop. You can find almost anything here, from the common to the artistic.

Address: [ ... ], Second District
Hours: 7 days a week, 9:00am - 6:00pm

The Shop
Layout: Basement, 1st Floor, 2nd Floor (I messed up drawing the doors orz), Roof

Basement → Majority of the space is for storage. Old school washer and dryer in the corner for Egypt's stuff, or when any of the workers' clothes get too dirty. Will get a spare cot in the future for new/displaced Atians, just in case.

First Floor → Front half is the shop space; has two large display windows with the front door in-between them. Back half is Egypt and Haru's work area; other floors accessible via the narrow staircase in the back corner.

Second Floor
A → Egypt's room, above the front of the store. Bed, nightstand, nearly-empty closet. Full length mirror leaning against the wall at the foot of the bed. Prayer mat goes in the center of the room when in use. Room locked during shop hours.
B → Also above the front of the store. Small kitchen and square table with 4 chairs close to the door. Living area close to the window (occupied by parlayacak); couch with a fold-out bed, cabinet, a curtain that can sort of partition off the two halves of the room. Room locked during shop hours, but the kitchen area can be used by workers during breaks.
C → Bathroom. Tub/shower thing. Really simple, nothing special. First aid kit under the sink. Can be used by workers and customers alike.
D → Office/meeting space. Desk, a few chairs... maybe a small shelf or cabinet, idk. Will eventually get a couch with a fold-out bed. Door not usually locked, but the important shop-related things are kept secure.

Roof → Low stone wall. Has an okay view of the district. Usually a place to relax or hang out during breaks. Free access during the day, but the door is locked at night.

Egypt's gonna buy himself a weapon or three once he has enough money. Don't you fucking try anything funny around the shop. ಠ_ೃ

In the event that both owners get sent back home, naplesprincess and frystur_hjarta receive Haru and Egypt's share of the business, respectively. Subject to change. (ICELAND IS GONE NOW. WHAT DO.)

The Goods

Earth Kingdom → Simple, but durable and elegant. Sticks to earth-based (lol duh) colors, usually browns and greens.

Egyptian → Designs often drawn from earlier times, passed down to Egypt by his mother. May seem "overpriced" to a very business-savvy customer. Egypt will argue his goods are worth every penny, but there's no harm in some friendly haggling. :|b That would actually be best.

Spanish → Very cheery and colorful. Detailing can be either intricate or simplistic, often carrying nature-inspired motifs.

Turkish → Highly detailed with either symmetrical patterns or gentle rhythms. Often carries abstract or plant/floral motifs. Colors stick to the limited palette used during the Ottoman Empire.

Polish → Detailed and very colorful. Sticks to plant/flower motifs with patterns relatively small in size.

Also willing to do custom commissions! Please provide adequate references and time for completion.

All goods have Sakhr's logo either stamped or painted on the bottom. Matches with the shop sign, so you know who to go to for the best pottery on Atia. :)

You break it, you pay triple buy it. And you get a bonus curbstomp from Egypt if no one is looking.

Coming Soon
Tableware and household goods! Items that can be used for more than just storage or decoration. (Sort of in the near future.)

Other artisan-stuff once they're more settled in. Glassware, jewelry, hardstone carvings, etc. (Maybe? This is a very long way off. Still contemplating the idea. Glassware is the most likely.)

[ Contact Information ]

  Haru
 Off Saturday & Sunday

One of the sole artisans of the shop, but he also pitches sales when he can. Strongest area is formation and painting basic designs.

  Egypt (Gupta M. Hassan)
 Off Thursday & Friday

One of the sole artisans of the shop, but he also pitches sales when he can. Helps with formation and focuses on painting the detailed designs.

[ Employees ]

  Spain (Antonio F. Carriedo)
Part time, off Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday

Detailed painting, cleaning, and front salesman stuff. Sings and plays his guitar outside the shop's front door from time to time to attract customers. Siestas from 3-4pm.

  Iceland (sort of)
 Visits occasionally

No longer on Atia. Used to do the paperwork for the shop, but Egypt has now taken over that task. Still haven't paid back that business loan, so... what do?

  Michael J. Caboose (sort of)
 On delivery days

Does all the heavy lifting on supply delivery days. Doesn't actually get paid; it's done in order to lessen the debt Caboose has to the shop for breaking shit during the grand opening.

  Turkey (Sadiq Adnan)
Full time, off Thursday & Friday

Detailed painting and various workshop things. Egypt's grocery/errand mule due to the fact that Turkey eats half the food while staying with him.

  Poland (Feliks Łukasiewicz)
Fulll time, off Sunday & Monday

Basic painting (sorry man, no sparkly pink unicorns), shop cleaning, and front salesman stuff. Alternates with whatever position Spain isn't working with at the time.
