Also, I don't hate this Bobby storyline anymore. He kind of gets on my nerves lately, I do wish he was off the show but I think the vengeful spirit part is interesting.
My sentiments exactly!!
Now Bobby is getting interesting!
And I loved Dean, the straight guy, walking the lesbian girl through chatting up the other straight guy!
A beautiful beautiful (do you know how hard it is to type "beautiful" late at night after some red wine??) episode. Split screens. Jumping back and forward in time. Leverage! That girl and Parker? How many other female badasses to you need?
I don't see Dean as straight so I enjoyed it in a different way I guess, but it was freaking awesome and hilarious whichever way you look at it! And yess hooray for female badasses!
Hmmm.... I probably should explain. I don't really think TPTB want Dean to come across as gay. Even bi I think would probably be assuming too much on their behalf. That's what I meant with Dean the straight guy.
Personally I think there a lots of scenes that can be read as him being not uninterested in guys. With Cas there's definitely something there, but if that is really truly sexual is not so clear cut imo. It can certainly be interpreted that way and personally I'm not at all adverse to that idea.
I just think it's more in the sub-text rather than the text itself.
I hope it didn't come across that I was trying to challenge your view that Dean is straight, I just replied that way just because I wouldn't want it to be assumed I think he's straight (I consider him bi). I get your point that him being bi is not canon because it hasn't been actually stated but personally the whole Dr. Sexy incident was enough for me (even though I have never really felt the sexual tension between him and Cas). :)
I gotta say I am glad that you see that there are scenes that can be read as him being "not uninterested" in guys! I've seen some people outright deny that which I do not understand one bit.
I think on the surface it's all Dean is this straight womanizing tough guy. So they don't scare off any potential homophobic males, probably. (Are there actually any guys watching it? Sometimes I wonder...)
But then they just mess around with us, throwing us all those ambiguous scenes - even Dr. Sexy could be argued away by the officials with just being meant as a joke. You can probably find proof for any kind of ship if you want to and also proof to argue it away. Oh, they are really clever that way :)
One thing I hope they never ever do though, is make any kind of ship official. Cause then the ship-wars would start for real...
Yeah exactly, I think that maybe they think Dean is bi but they will never 'go there' because they don't want it to be weird for their viewers who aren't fangirls. I do know a few guys who watch it! They definitely do give us a lot of shippy fanservice, but YES AGREED the only ship that even has a sliver of a possibility of becoming canon is Dean/Cas and I swear I would probably stop watching if that happened, lol.

I hope I made my point on this a bit clearer. ^^
