Very strange.
Missing guy
I got an e-mail regarding some guy that was missing in Topanga this weekend. Apparently he was a member of a friend's church, and gave a cell call at some early morning hour (before dawn), and then disappeared. I saw the news yesterday, and apparently it's true. I didn't know the guy
Public Eye
A few of my clients are on reality TV recently. An odd choice if you ask me. Now I heard there's an article about one of them, talking about family situations and all.. The sad part is that there are a ton of people that think the people they see on the TV show is what they're really like, but the situations are constructed and the personas are created, but everyone I know that has seen the show think that's really them.
Dead Guy
I talked with a friend of mine about the ride the other night to Long Beach. He told me about another bicyclist that died yesterday down near La Jolla/Miramar. Apparently a truck just blindsided him and he died. It really is dangerous with our limited choices of streets (with all their traffic and distracted drivers) vs. bike paths (where along the beaches, are full of distracted peds, rollerbladers, etc.).
He says he's only doing stationary work (setting his bike up on a stationary rig for training) and in the river(s), where we have no cross traffic. I finally gave in to his requests to do a ride together. Apparently it's a 55 mile loop, but he does it in just over a couple of hours. Uh.. I don't know if I could sustain it for that long. He's a triathlete. I eat cream cheese croissants.
I asked him to be kind when we go out next week.
