Darn you, ONTD.
See, I wasn't planning on getting excited about The Pacific because I knew it was right up my alley (like Generation Kill and Band of Brothers), and I knew I wouldn't have time to get into the show/fandom come March. But then ohnotheydidnt linked me to this, and my exactly reaction was:
1. Ooh, well he's cute. I wonder who he is.
2. Wait, that's the kid from Jurassic Park?
3. Wait, he's going to be in The Pacific?
And then that started off a whole chain of events, the end result being me, sitting here in front of my laptop watching trailers on HBO, excitement sort of clawing from my chest up to my throat. Yeah, I know, I'm weird - get over it.
Anyway, now I'm pretty jazzed about this miniseries, even though generally I strongly dislike things about the Pacific War (I can't bring myself to watch Letters From Iwo Jima even though I hear it's good, and I barely made it though Flags Of Our Fathers - I was only watching that for Stark Sands, to be honest). But I'll make an exception for this. Let's just hope it's extremely well-done.
