And now for those of you interested in an update on the current condition of my reality, my once yearly post. :P

I'm mostly recovered from the two trips to the ER a couple weeks ago. I still get the occasional splitting headache and I've been needing to see the chiropractor on a more regular basis, but I'm hoping to be up to getting some serious painting done soon. I've got ReaperCon coming up in the middle of May and I very much want to be able to bring a proper masterclass entry this year. I've got some really cool ideas for using oil paints to end up with a luminescent looking skintone and properly fishy looking scales on this mermaid I'm working on. Now I just need to be able to sit and work long enough to get it done.

Luckily for me, while sitting forward hunched over my painting desk isnt really a good idea quite yet, sitting back at my computer is perfectly fine. This means that I've been working on a massive update to my website, which I'm said to say I havent updated in over a year, and not only doesnt include the work busted my ass on to win the Iron Painter lest season, which I honestly think is some of the best stuff I've done, but it also doesnt include the pieces with which I finally earned a gold at the MMSI show last year. So here's to me finally being made to sit at my computer and get that done, and here's to my little brother who's gonna help me spiff the page up into something a bit snazzier.

Being on the computer alot has also meant I've been spending a lot of time working on one of the crazier projects I've ever taken on. ElfQuest, my favorite comic book ever, is in the process of going digital and making the entire series available free on their website at http://www.elfquest.com . Now, some of the story had already been digitized when Wendy (the artist) decided it was time to learn photoshop and went and recolored the original story. However a lot of what they've created over the last 30 years they no longer own the original artwork for and it's from a time well before saving digital files of one's artwork was the norm. So, in my infinite insanity, I offered to help by scanning my comics. (Yes, I really do own every story they've every produced in almost every format it was ever printed in. I'm allowed to have one thing in my life I'm a neurotic collector about :P ) This has lead to some rather interesting revelations on my part, such as how much better the Epson scanning software is from the HP scanning software, and also the fact that Richard Pini (co author and editor of the series)is a highly amusing character.

So I gotta say despite annoying medical issues life has been pretty darned good lately.
