Ever increasing theater tix

Apr 17, 2007 21:51

I know very well that theatre is a luxury. Unlike movie, it's not affordable most of the time (some non-profit theatres do offer "pay as you can" shows once in a while but it's still not for average Joes).

But when I found out that Jersey Boys' tix in LA will cost $100, I was just outraged. Yes it is a Tony Best Musical (but the cast are not OBC), and yes it's the hottest tix on Broadway now. Still charging $100 at a non-profit organization is a crime. I hope their subscribers are deeply discounted.

Also another thing made me ticked was that Hot Tix ($20 tix) will be only available at the box office, not by phone. I hope to see the show in LA if possible but I'm not sure if I want to pay $100 for the same cast I saw in SF. Maybe I save the money to see the 2nd tour cast in SF.
