The Real Danger We Face in This Election
Glenn Beck made this point on the radio yesterday and I just wanted to echo its sentiments and add a little of my own opinion to it. The real danger we face in this election is not necessarily who we elect as president, although that’s a big part of it, but the danger is in who we elect to Congress.
The Democrats have controlled congress since 2006 and in that two year period they haven’t really done anything but earn the lowest approval rating of any elected body in United States history. Yet, for some reason, every indication is that the Democrats are actually going to GAIN seats in the congress this November. If that happens we CAN NOT elect Barack Obama president. Giving the Democrats a filibuster proof congress and control of the White House would virtually end all debate in the legislature and all debate with the American People. It would not matter, whatever the Democrats say would go, no questions asked. This would spell the end of the American Democracy as we know it.
I used to be a Democrat but have recently switched to independent because ever since the 2000 election the Democratic Party has slowly but steadily continued to move farther and farther to the left. The party of my grandmothers family has disappeared and has moved out of the realm of traditional liberalism, into progressive liberalism and now, as I believe it has, into socialism. It should honestly terrify every American when politicians begin talking about taxing the profits of free enterprise in order to give out rebate checks to the middle and lower class. This is income redistribution. This is SOCIALISM and if we send more Democrats to congress AND Barack Obama to the White House there will be no one to stop them.
If oil companies are making too much money, how long till they begin saying that internet companies make too much money? Or that the banking industry makes too much money? Or that an individual makes too much money? This is horrifying. We cannot sit here and give Barack Obama and the Democrats a rubber stamp to “change” the United States of America into the United Socialist States of America.
This is why if we’re going to elect Barack Obama to the White House, we CANNOT send more Democrats to congress or if we are going to send more Democrats to congress we CANNOT afford to elect Barack Obama president of the United States.
