I'm an agent of change, whatever that means! Can I be president too!?

Alright, I'm not usually one to go on long political diatribes but this has really been bothering me.

I was listening to the Jay Lawrence show tonight on KTAR and they had a bunch of partisan democratic hacks on analyzing Barack Obama's decision to choose Joe Biden as his running mate. The question came up, "how can Obama represent 'change' if he chooses someone who's been apart of the Washington establishment for 35 years?" And one of the "brilliant" analysts came out with the line, "Well, if you think about it, Lyndon Johnson was 51 when he became president, does that mean that he wasn't an agent of change?"

Think about that statement for a moment. Really, just mull it over, because if you have any knowledge of political history, you'll understand just exactly how ignorant that statement really is.

As I understood it, this idea of "change," as it stands in this election, comes from not being apart of the things that have been going on the last eight years, in essence "changing directions" from the previous administration. Well, Lyndon Johnson became president because he was vice president under John F. Kennedy who was assissinated in Dallas in November of 1963 and when LBJ became president, he pretty much carried on the same old 1960's Democratic politics. Big government, civil rights, aggressive foreign policy, etc. So how is it that Lyndon Johnson was an agent of "change" in 1963 when he was a part of the previous administraion AND continued most of the same policies? Is it just that every democrat that's elected is a "change agent." Or have all the liberal democrats gone so fucking crazy that they've bought into this fabrication, this idea that if Barack Obama is elected president he's going to change the very foundation of how Washington works and fix everything!?

So fucking honestly could someone tell me just what the HELL this "change" is!? I sure as shit don't know but if you go down to any college campus and ask people why they're supporting Obama, all you hear is, "Uhm, well, I just uhm, like think he's the best agent for 'change' in this election." WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN!?!?!?!? This election is very important and if a large portion of the electorate is basing their vote on this idea of "change" don't you think there ought to be something behind it? I sure hope there is but no one seems to be able to explain that or make it clear where the substance is, but I guess that's to be expected out of the Obama campaign. Smoke and mirrors.
