I know this blog has gotten a little hockey-heavy lately (and, of course, by "a little" I mean "completely overrun") and for the non-hockey fans, I apologize (although I don't know why I would apologize to people who don't follow College Hockey...you're the one that sucks! ;) I kid, I kid).
It's just this time of year always gets me nervous. Granted it's been a while since St. Cloud State has made it into the NCAA Tournament (5 years?)...still it's consuming my thoughts. It's driving me bananas. Bonkers. Nuts. Fucking wacko.
A win would be huge. We, as fans of SCSU, should probably expect more than just a win (we have, arguably, the, easiest bracket within the tournament) but considering that we've never won an NCAA Tournament game...I'd definitely settle for it. Hell, I wouldn't even consider it "settling."
Another loss in this year's NCAA Tournament would be absolutely devastating. Another year known as the Minnesota Oh-fers. Sweet. Another 6-11 months of
jonnymachinegun's jokes. Awesome. Another year of
the monkey. Hurray. I can hardly wait.
If we win, expect jubilation. If we lose, expect complete depression.
And I guess that's really what it's like being a sports fan. We're bananas. Bonkers. Nuts. Fucking wacko.
edit: here is a really good
article from the St. Cloud Times discussing the "Oh-Fers Curse"
