The Smashing Pumpkins once said that the world is a vampire, a statement that in my youth I didn't entirely agree. But as I age, I see the self destructive and idiotic tendencies of the world at large, at the top and at the bottom and I wonder if man was ever meant to do anything more that reap woe down upon itself.
