Kirk/Spock fan dvd

Nov 06, 2011 20:25

So sorry it took so long! I had no idea how much trouble would come from just uploading the thing, which is why as of now it only has one download option. A 4gb file is no small matter. Also, I have no idea what to tag this, so any suggestions are cool. :)

I present the ultimate K/S compilation dvd! Just over four and a half hours of space husband goodness. Included is the best K/S moments in the TV show and movies, a selection of fan vids, and every episode of The Ship's Closet aired thus far, up to and including the audio edition. This file was WAY too big to upload as a single file and frankly it took forever to upload the parts. I would not recommend downloading these files with a slow internet connection.

INSTRUCTIONS:

If you don't want to actually burn the dvd and just want to watch it off your computer, skip all instructions except 'how to get the .iso file'. You can either mount your extracted .iso file with something like daemon tools* or simply open it with a good media player. It won't play on wpm for me, but it worked perfectly on VLC media player*.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BURN THIS TO A DVD
1) winrar*. Needed to extract the .iso file.
2) computer with dvd rewritable drive.
3) a blank dvd that works well with your computer
4) an .iso file writing program, like iso image burner*.
*all programs listed here are free.

HOW TO GET THE .ISO FILE (new instructions as of 1/29/12)
Once you have successfully downloaded all six parts, change each file exension from .doc to .rar (google 'changing file extensions' if you're not sure how to do that on what OS you're using.) Make sure you have winrar installed. Highlight all six parts, right-click, and select 'extract here'. You will be asked for a password. The password is thyla. The parts will now combine and extract to one large .iso file after a few seconds/minutes.

HOW TO BURN YOUR .ISO FILE TO A DVD
1) Place a blank dvd into your dvd-rw drive. If you aren't sure if your computer is capable of dvd writing or what kind of blank dvd to purchase, refer to your computer manual. Usually the drive will say 'DVD-RW' or if all else fails, you'll figure out pretty fast if you can burn dvds when you try to actually write. As for blank dvds, most computers use DVD-R and I know that's what I use. Never get DVD+RW because those will rarely play in a standard dvd player.
2) Install and open iso image burner. Under '.iso image file', go to where you put the 'spacehusbands.iso' file. Check under 'CD-R/RW Driver' to make sure you have the right dvd selected. Now go back to the top and push the 'burn' button.

I'll try to answer as many questions as I can if you guys are having problems, but I'm no tech support, so attempt this at your own peril. Enjoy!
