Supernatural - what happened to you?

God, no spoilers on this one, because who really cares about the details? I am hating this season. If there is one more dull, stupid, character-wrecking episode after this one, I'm done. Maybe I'll mainline the whole thing when it's over, hopefully this being the last year (please let it die with some shred of dignity), but I'll definitely be done

Oh man, Supernatural. This is clearly its last season, I was absolutely certain as soon as the second episode aired. This week's ep was so much better but it was still far from making me actually care about it.
It feels like each season was written by a completely different set of people but since the last season, it felt like each episode had a different writing staff. And this week's episode? Yeah, completely disjointed. And too much blatant fan service; I do love subtext but when the writers slap you over the face with ~profound bonds~ and gratuitous shirtless boys; you know they're just struggling to please.
IDK; they seem to be making it up as they go along and as much as that's okay when you're writing fic, it's unacceptable when you're writing for an actual show.
I just hope it gets better towards the end and that the finale won't disappoint like the last one did. I don't want this series - which I love without being in fandom; such a guiltless pleasure to have! - to end with a disappointing fizz, like Heroes did.
Because, Heroes. :( Still disappointed about that. I mean, such a great start and then that damned writer's strike, followed by a Sylar-driven season (which i was okay with because he was the only reason I kept watching anyways) and then the last season, where no one seemed to know what they were doing and every character ran around like headless chicken. WTH, man, way to fuck up something good. >:(
