Monroe Mountain

August 23, 2004
Today, we went and played tennis at Monroe High School. Their courts aren’t as nice as Franklin’s, but it was still a lot of fun. My whole family and my cousin Meghan all played. Meghan is going to be on the tennis team. It’s weird here because they tennis in the fall for the girls, whereas in Franklin, we have field hockey & soccer. The boys play tennis in the spring and soccer isn’t as big here. After tennis, we went back to my grandparent’s house. Grandma made a huge breakfast. She made whole wheat pancakes. They are SO good. She also makes/has the best jams. When we were done, my family got ready and we went into Richfield to pick up some groceries to go up to my Grandpa Dyches’ cabin. It’s been a whole year since we have been there. So, we drove up to the cabin & saw quite a few elk and deer. When we dropped off our stuff, it was freezing outside & inside the cabin. Outside, in a bucket filled half with gravel and water (to the brim), there were mosquito larvae and a drowned mouse. I tipped the bucket to kill the mosquitoes and to get rid of the mouse. The mouse came out and it had a tint of green in its fur. We had to turn on the circuit-breakers to the house. We got into the car and drove to Manning Reservoir. We went fishing. It was windy, and the fish weren’t biting. I lost a lure and break a bobber; that was the extent of all that went on at the Reservoir. So, we left empty handed. We came back to the cabin and ate dinner. That’s been the extent of the day.
I love the mountains.
I love being away from the world.
I love being outdoors.
I love being on vacation.
I love eating my Grandma’s food.
I love listening to others laugh-it’s quite contagious.
I love the dialect and emphasis the people put on certain phrases, words and even letters.
I love spending time with relatives.
I love sleeping.
I love music---speaking of which, I need to pick up Tim McGraw’s CD tomorrow J.
I love cooking.
I love spending time with friends.
Well, I better get in bed. I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow.

George Strait - "Write This Down"
I never saw the end in sight
Fools are kind of blind
Thought everything was going alright
But I was runnin' out of time
'Cause you had one foot out the door
I swear I didn't see
But if you're really going away
Here's some final words from me

Baby write this down, take a little note
To remind you in case you didn't know
Tell yourself I love you and I don't want you to go
Write this down
Take my words and read 'em every day
Keep 'em close by, don't ya let 'em fade away
So you'll remember what I forgot to say
Write this down

I'll sign it at the bottom of the page
I'll swear under oath
'Cause every single word is true
And I think you need to know
So use it as a bookmark
Stick it on your 'fridgerator door
Hang it in a picture frame above the mantle
Where you'll see it for sure

Baby write this down, take a little note
To remind you in case you didn't know
Tell yourself I love you and I don't want you to go
Write this down
Take my words and read 'em every day
Keep 'em close by, don't ya let 'em fade away
So you'll remember what I forgot to say
Write this down

You can find a chisel, I can find a stone
Folks will be readin' these words, long after were gone

Baby write this down, take a little note
To remind you in case you didn't know
Tell yourself I love you and I don't want you to go
Write this down
Take my words and read 'em every day
Keep 'em close by, don't ya let 'em fade away
So you'll remember what I forgot to say
Write this down

Oh I love you and I don't want you to go
Baby write this down
