What is love? what is it really? is it a tangible thing. Can it be counted, traded, sold, or destroyed? Really? Is it worth anything? You tell me? I want your opinion. Apparently it IS a tangible thing.. to be thrown away at a seconds notice. Apparantly it means more to some people then to others. Some value it, some waste it. Its sad really. I

-You can ALWAYS prevent yourself from being hurt, but you almost never see it happening, until its too late or its over. And then there are other people(like you crystal have been being, im sure somewhats justifyably) that just put up huge defenses so they can not get hurt. While this may work, it also completely prevents you from the good side of love, that only vulnerability can bring. Like everything else in life, love is a gamble. Only the stakes are much higher, in fact the only stakes higher are your life itself. And i know as well as most, that the pain that love can cause very well may hurt more than death, but its hard to truly live without it. So you can live an empty mostly meaningless life, where you hide from everything, and never let anyone too close. You all the while feel that tugging and emptiness inside. OR, you can open yourself to new people, feelings, and ideas. Allow people to see the real you, and to love you for who you are, even tho this also makes you vulnerable to being hurt. And most of all LIVE truly and freely. Sometimes you will find love, and maybe even lose it, but its the pursuit.. the journey and the adventure of getting there that matters.

that's exactly right. almost a year later, i've truely felt that. i know now that in EVERY possible way, love can make or break you...but no matter what, you have a second chance at it...and a third and fourth if you are willing. don't let this get you so bad. if she can't see the real you, or the things you have to offer...she wasn't really worth your time.
miss ya!
