DWM #421 is out and reveals some casting news as regards Situation Vacant, the next audio adventure for Paul McGann's Doctor when the New Eighth Doctor Adventures returns to the Big Finish release schedule in July.

As you probably know Lucie Miller parted company with the Doctor at the end of Alan Barnes'  Death in Blackpool which means that we find the Doctor engaged in Situation Vacant in what producer David Richardson describes as 'a bizarre scenario' where four potential companions compete for the opportunity to travel in the fourth and fifth dimension with the Doctor.

DWM provide the rundown on the four candidates and the identity of the four actors cast.

Hugh Bainbridge
David Richardson describes Hugh Bainbridge as '...an amiable public school type who, though perhaps not the brightest tool in the box, is happy to rush in where Time Lords fear to tread.  James Bachman has been cast; you might or might not recognise him from telly such as That Mitchell and Webb Look; Saxondale and Beehive.

Juliet Walsh
''...Juliet's a tough cookie. A driven and highly successful career woman, there is nothing she won't do to close the deal.'' Juliet Walsh's shoes will be filled by the actress Niky Wardley who has appeared in such fare as The Catherine Tate Show; All the Small Things; Benidorm and Shameless.

Asha Qureshi
''...a no-nonsense, capable young woman with a tendency towards precociousness and a surprising ability to cope with the unexpected...'' Big Finish have cast Shelley Conn as Asha whose previous projects include the BBC's Party Animals.

Theo Lawson
''Theo is King of the Geeks; an introverted and computer savvy teenager who knows more about gigabytes than he does about girls.''  Big Finish have called upon the talents of Joe Thomas of The Inbetweeners for this role.
